
The most-expensive car ever sold at public auction was also probably the most-raced of the 39 Ferrari 250 GTOs produced in 1962 and 1963. It was sold at a world record price at the 2014 Bonhams Quail Lodge sale in Carmel on the Monterey Peninsula in California.
