A 1911 Mercer Type 35R Raceabout was the oldest car at the RM Auctions Monterey 2014 sale to pass the $ 1 million mark. It sold for 2.5 million, the same price as the newest car to do the same, a 2013 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse.
