The sale earned Mecum $16.5 million with a 100% sell-through rate, as all lots were offered without reserve. The auction featured an estimated 295 collector vehicles and over 1,000 pieces of Road Art®, from one of the nation’s most iconic private automotive museum collections.
This auction celebrates the lasting impact of the late Larry Klairmont. His lifelong passion for preserving automotive history led to the creation of one of the most extraordinary car museums.

Headlining the collection was the legendary Golden Sahara II, a futuristic custom car icon that captivated America’s imagination in the late 1950s, and the one-of-a-kind 1926 Rickenbacker Eight Super Sport that is believed to be the only example still extant today.
