The hammer came down at $25.5 million but with premium $28,050,000 was due on this 1956 Ferrari 290 MM – the third highest price ever paid for a car at public auction. It was the top result at the RM Sotheby’s Driven by Disruption classic car auction in New York and the highest price paid for a car in 2015. It was also the highest result at auction ever for RM Sotheby’s.
