A 1994 Bugatti EB110 Super Sport, the only Bugatti to be designed and built in Italy, was the most expensive car sold in the Bonhams Zoute Sale 2021 when it achieved €2,242,500 ($2,594,348). This result was only second to the $2,755,000 paid for a similar model at RM Sotheby’s Monterey 2021.  EB110 prices increased from around a million dollar in 2016 to over two million for the three sold at public auction since 2019.

Unveiled on the 110th anniversary of Ettore Bugatti’s birth, the EB110 was a poster car of the 1990s. The Bugatti sold in Belgium had 30,000 km on the clock compared to only 10,000 for the record car. Only 30 Super Sport variants were ever produced.

A 1994 Bugatti EB 110 GT (Estimate: €1,000,000 – €1,200,000) was announced for the RM Sotheby’s Paris 2022 sale.

1989 Ferrari F40 Berlinetta

The second highest result at the Belgian auction was for a 1989 Ferrari F40 Berlinetta which achieved a very strong €1,840,000 ($2,128,696). This was the fourth F40 sold at auction thus far in 2021 for over $2 million. Like the others, this was a low mileage example in super condition.

This F40 was a one-owner supercar originally ordered from Garage Francorchamps. It had been dry-stored since 1992 and had covered fewer than 1,800 kilometer from new.
