The 1973 Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spider by Scaglietti, finished in striking Nocciola Metallizzato, was the unquestionable star of the show. The car was the 82nd of 121 produced by the factory. It was fully restored and Ferrari Classiche certified. The Spider sold for a world-record auction price of €3,098,750 — the first 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spider to achieve over $3 million at auction.

The second highest seller of the night was the 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster ‘Outlaw’, a car that garnered a lot of pre-sale interest due to its customized ‘Outlaw’ style, which among other removed the bumpers from the classic lines of the 300 SL Roadster. Subject to a €400,000 restoration, it retains its matching-numbers engine block and went for €1,096,250 — not a particularly strong result for an expensively restored Roadster.

Rounding off the top three sellers in Munich was the 2023 BMW 3.0 CSL. Created to celebrate the M division’s 50-year anniversary, the car is exceptionally rare, being one of just 50 built. With 560 horsepower on tap and with just 33 kilometers on the clock, it richly deserved its €1,017,500 selling price.  The price new was around €750,000.

Further Notable Results

One of the most historically significant rally cars ever offered at auction, the 2011 Citroën DS3 WRC is believed to be one of just 13 Works-prepared DS3 WRCs constructed between 2011 and 2016. The example sold boasts a remarkable 11 WRC victories, 16 podiums, and 80 stage wins—a record for any WRC chassis. Rally legend Sébastien Loeb drove the car to victory in the 2012 Rallye de France, where he won his 9th WRC title. This remarkable car sold for €713,750.

Worthy of note was the 2016 Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG G850 6×6 by Brabus, a rare, custom-built, six-wheeled version of the Mercedes-AMG G-Wagen. Tuned by Brabus, this 850-horsepower beast sold for €578,750.
