This 1934 Mercedes-Benz 500 K/540 K (factory upgrade) Spezial Roadster achieved €3,105,000 (US$ 4,221,247) at the Bonhams sales at the Mercedes Benz Museum in Stuttgart in July 2014. This was the highest price thus far this year paid for a Mercedes Benz at public auction and the tenth highest price for any classic car at auction.
