Michael Schumacher’s Monaco and Championship-winning 2001 Ferrari F2001 racer sold as the most expensive Ferrari F1 car ever at RM Sotheby’s Grand Prix de Monaco 2025 auction.

RM Sotheby’s sold the 2001 Ferrari F1, chassis 211, which Michael Schumacher drove to victory at the Monaco and Hungarian GP races to secure his fourth world championship, for €15,980,000 ($18,392,980) at the special Grand Prix de Monaco 2025 sale. This set a new record price for the most expensive Ferrari Formula 1 racing car ever sold at public auction. No presale estimate was released, but this racing car sold for a then-record $7.5 million in New York in 2017.
Michael Schumacher’s 2001 Ferrari F1 at RM Sotheby’s Monaco 2025 Sale

Michael Schumacher’s 2001 Ferrari F2001, chassis 211, was offered for sale at a special RM Sotheby’s auction on 24 May 2025 at the Paddock Club prior to qualifying for the 2025 Formula 1 TAG Heuer Monaco Grand Prix.

Schumacher achieved his fifth, and final, Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix victory in chassis 211 in 2001. He drove the same chassis to victory at the Hungaroring later in the year to clinch his fourth (of eventually seven) Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship with four races to spare. This was his second championship (of five) with Ferrari and secured Ferrari its 11th Constructors’ Championship.
