A unique white 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO will be offered for sale at the Mecum Kissimmee collector car auctions in mid-January 2026 in Florida, USA.

Mecum announced that the Bianco Speciale 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, chassis 3729GT, will headline the 2026 Kissimmee classic car auction. This unrestored, but exceptionally well-maintained, Ferrari was the only GTO originally finished in white. It comes with excellent provenance and in-period racing history. No estimate has been released yet but the final price is likely to be in the $50 to $70 million range.
Mecum Kissimmee Sale 2026

Mecum’s Kissimmee 2026 collector car auction: 6 to 18 January 2026 at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida, USA. Over 4,000 cars, motorcycles, and items of art and memorabilia are on sale.
While most other classic auctioneers are still preparing for the annual Scottsdale and Arizona sales at the end of January, Mecum is already selling and earning at the gigantic Kissimmee auction in Florida, USA.
Results in 2025, as recorded by Hagerty, reached $224M in total sales (down about three percent from 2024), an average price of $67,290 ($79,554), and a sell-through rate of 74 percent (up from 70 percent), although the sell-through rate for $1M-plus vehicles was down notably from 58 percent in 2024 to 32 percent in 2025.
White 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO on Sale at Mecum Kissimmee 2026

The 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO “Bianco Speciale), chassis 3729GT, announced for the Mecum Kissimmee 2026 auction, was the only one of the 36 Ferrari 250 GTOs ever produced to be finished in white. (Enzo Ferrari famously disliked white cars.)
The 250 GTO with Scaglietti coachwork, designed by Bizzarrini, was originally ordered and raced by British racing team owner John Coombs. He famously used this 250 GTO to convince Jaguar that the racing E-Type needed more work and performance.

The Bianco Speciale was raced in period by, amongst others, Graham Hill, Mike Parkes and Jack Sears. It achieved numerous second places overall and some class wins.
Sears would own the Bianco Speciale for three decades before former COO and president of Microsoft Jon Shirley in 1999 in the United States. Although the car has been repaired, refreshed, and refinished, it was never fully restored. Many of the modifications introduced during its racing career were maintained.

Ferrari 250 GTO Prices at Public Auctions (2014-2025)

Only three Ferrari 250 GTOs have been offered at public auction since 2014, and all took the title of the most expensive Ferrari ever at the time of sale. (The unique white 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, chassis 3729GT, will headline the Mecum Kissimmee auction in January 2026.)
R | Year | Car | Price $ | Auction House | Auction | Auction Date |
1 | 1962 | Ferrari 330 LM / 250 GTO | 51,705,000 | RM Sotheby’s | New York | 2023 |
2 | 1962 | Ferrari 250 GTO | 48,405,000 | RM Sotheby’s | Monterey | 2018 |
3 | 1962 | Ferrari 250 GTO Berlinetta | 38,115,000 | Bonhams | Quail Lodge | 2014 |
These three are also among the five most expensive cars ever. The only cars sold for more at public auction were the 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé ($143 million) and 1954 Mercedes-Benz W196R F1 Streamliner ($54 million).
Top Ferrari 250 GTO Cars Sold at Auction

The 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO / 330 LM, chassis 3765, was sold by RM Sotheby’s in New York in 2023 for $51,705,000. It is one of only two originally fitted with the 4.0-liter 330 LM engine and the only Series I GTO raced by the official Scuderia Ferrari factory team.

The 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, chassis 3413, sold at RM Sotheby’s Monterey 2018 for $48,405,000, was the third Ferrari 250 GTO ever built and one of only four cars upgraded in period by Scaglietti to the more aggressive and successful Series II GTO/64 coachwork.

The 1962-3 Ferrari 250 GTO, chassis 3851, sold at Bonhams Quail Lodge 2014 for $38,115,000, was the 17th Ferrari 250 GTO produced and originally belonged to French privateer Jo Schlesser, who with Henri Oreiller as co-driver finished second in the 1962 Tour de France Automobile races series. After Oreiller crashed fatally at Mothlhery, the car was rebuilt and thus often termed a 1962-3 car.
Reports frequently circulate of 250 GTOs selling privately for far more than the auction cars. Prices of $60 and $80 million are often hinted at but can of course not be verified. However, such high prices are plausible as none of the three GTOs sold at auction would be the first choice of buyers should all 36 be available.
