The most expensive car sold at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2024 collector car auction was a 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing that achieved $3,410,000 to set a new model record for a non-alloy Gullwing. The second highest result was almost $3 million for a 2018 Bugatti Chiron while a classic 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster sold for $ 2,420,000. Ten cars achieved results above a million dollars each.

Interesting Results at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2024 Sale

Barrett-Jackson had quite a good start to the 2024 auction year by selling several top cars for good prices and achieving results on car models that Bonhams and RM Sotheby’s failed to sell during the annual January sales in Scottsdale, Arizona. It achieved its highest total ever with $200,9 million earned from 2016 no-reserve car lots, $6.7 million from automobilia, and a million dollars for charity. More than 190 world records were achieved including a spectacular Gullwing result.

The most expensive car sold in the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2024 collector car auction was the 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing Coupe sold for $3,410,000 — it set a new model record for a non-alloy Gullwing.

The 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster which sold for $1,100,000 originally belonged to Donald Trump — a Diable in top condition without the former president’s ownership would sell for around half that result according to Hagerty.

Charity Lots at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2024

  • 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 3LZ (Lot #3000) – $270,000 to benefit the Chip Miller Charitable Foundation for Amyloidosis Research, including $50,000 donated by philanthropist and longtime member of the Barrett-Jackson family, Michelle Mauzy.
  • 1968 Shelby GT350 Convertible Re-Creation (Lot #3001) – $100,000 to benefit the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation by providing scholarships to students enrolled in the Carroll Shelby Automotive Program.
  • 2023 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon Custom Pickup (Lot #3002) – $325,000 to benefit Building Homes for Heroes, including $50,000 donated by Mauzy and an additional $25,000 from Barrett-Jackson President Steve Davis.
  • 2024 Ford Mustang Darkhorse VIN 001 (Lot #3003) – $375,000 to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, including $50,000 donated by Mauzy and $25,000 from The Elayne Snyder Acts 20:35 Foundation.
