Bonhams Scottsdale 2024 Classic Car Auction

Bonhams Scottsdale classic car auction: 25 January 2024 at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona.

In 2024, Bonhams earned $12 million at Scottsdale with a sell-through rate of 80%.

In 2023, Bonhams Scottsdale realized a total of $30 million, with 84% sold and 97% by value, for the British auctioneer’s best results in Arizona since 2017. Despite considerable successes in previous years, the Scottsdale auction has been of lesser importance to Bonhams in recent years with earnings as follows:

Although six cars entered the Bonhams Scottsdale 2024 classic car auction with estimates exceeding a million dollars, only the two Bugattis were sold during the auction:

2022 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+

The ninth of 30 produced of the world’s fastest road-going car, the 2022 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, sold for a model record $5,175,000 as the highest result at the Bonhams Scottsdale 2024 classic car auction. It was also the most expensive car sold at any of the Scottsdale, Arizona, 2024 January auctions and the third most expensive car thus far in 2024.

This Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ was one of only eight cars delivered to the US and was the first one offered for sale at public auction in the US — RM Sotheby’s previously sold a 300+ for $4,857,720 in London 2022. It had only 255 miles on the clock. (A more standard 2018 Bugatti Chiron achieved just less than $3 million at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2024 sale.)

1936 Bugatti Type 57 Atalante Sunroof Coupe

The only other million-dollar result in the Bonhams sale was for a classic 1936 Bugatti Type 57 Atalante Sunroof Coupe. It achieved $1,380,000. This Atalante participated in the 1938 Rallye des Alpes and is one of only four surviving factory-built roll-top sunroof cars.
