The most expensive cars sold at the Mecum Monterey 2026 sales were a model-record 1996 Ferrari F50 and a 2003 Ferrari Enzo.

Mecum sold at least 23 cars for more than a million dollars at the Monterey 2026 auction. The top results included several model records, including for a yellow 1996 Ferrari F50. A 2004 Gemballa Mirage GT set a new marque record, while one of the two Porsche Carrera GTs achieved the third-highest result for the model.

Top Hypercar Results at Mecum Monterey 2026

Some of the hypercars sold for strong prices at the Mecum Monterey 2026 collector car auction included:
1996 Ferrari F50
The most expensive car sold at the Mecum Monterey 2026 auction was a 1996 Ferrari F50 for a model record of $14,575,000 — the second time in 2026 that the F50 model record was increased at a Mecum auction. This was only the third F50 to sell for over $10 million, after one was sold for more than $12 million at RM Sotheby’s Monterey on the same day.
The 1996 Ferrari F50 was the 239th of 349 produced and originally delivered in Switzerland, but later imported to the USA. It showed 7,253 km (~4,500 miles). It is one of 31 finished in yellow Giallo Modena. (Only two of the 55 US-specification F50s were finished in yellow, including, famously, the ex-Ralph Lauren car that sold for a then-model record $9,245,000 at RM Sotheby’s Monterey 2025.)

(Last Updated / Verified: 16 August 2026)
Only seven Ferrari F50s have ever sold for more than $6 million at public auction — three of these were in January 2026.
2003 Ferrari Enzo
The 2003 Ferrari Enzo, sold at Mecum Monterey 2026 for $12,100,000, is in the standard Rosso Corsa with a Nero leather interior. It shows only 589 miles, which largely explains why it is the most expensive standard red Enzo and the fourth most expensive overall. The price was significantly higher than those achieved for higher-mileage Enzos at RM Sotheby’s and Broad Arrow Monterey 2026.
This Enzo was a no-sale at Mecum Monterey 2017 with a highest bid of $2,700,000. At the time, the odometer reading was 151 miles.

** In 2015, a 2005 Ferrari Enzo (originally owned by the Pope) sold for a model record of $6 million. It took eleven years for the second Enzo sale to exceed $5 million, and then it happened four times in one month in January 2026.
Next Enzo to test the market:
2005 Porsche Carrera GT
Two Porsche Carrera GT cars and a Gemballa derivative were on offer at Mecum Monterey 2026:
- A metallic-silver 2005 Porsche Carrera GT showing only 372 miles failed to sell. The highest unsuccessful bid of $4 million would have made the car the third-most expensive Carrera GT ever.
- Another 2005 Porsche Carrera GT showing 3,480 miles took that honor with a price of $3,575,000. This Carrera GT was recently refinished in a bespoke PPG Rosso Fuoco — a fire red more often associated with Ferrari.
Five of the seven Porsche Carrera GTs sold at auction thus far in 2026 achieved over $3 million.
Top Porsche Carrera GT Prices at Public Auction (2004-2026)
The six highest Porsche Carrera GT prices at public auction were:

| 1 | 2005 | Porsche Carrera GT | 6,715,000 | Broad Arrow Amelia Island | 2026/03 |

Next Porsche Carrera GT to test the market: ex-Michael Schumacher Carrera GT at Mecum Kissimmee 2027.
2004 Gemballa Mirage GT
The 2004 Gemballa Mirage GT sold at Mecum Monterey was the 24th of 25 created from existing Porsche Carrera GT cars. It is finished in Lime Rock Gray Metallic with a slate gray interior. The Mirage has only covered 100 miles since the conversion.
The Gemballa Mirage GT has a very limited auction price record, which is not surprising given the scarcity of the car. Bonhams sold one in Switzerland (Bonmont 2020) for CHF 669,300, while another one failed to sell at RM Sotheby’s Paris 2020. The result and guidance at the time were not much above standard Carrera GT prices, but only two Carrera GTs have sold for more than this Gemballa Mirage.
